What I've Been Doing:
Additions:
- Finished up the intro cutscene for the game (the attached video).
- Added new playable character to the game (Sheldon). This character is unlocked after the game is completed for the first time.
- Added a character selection menu that shows before the game starts.
- Added object pooling to the corpses.
- Capped the number of boards that can be in the room to 100.
- Added 2 more creature events.
- Started work on the Steam page (not up yet).
- Small tweaks with the ending sequence for the final boss.
- Optimized things to do with the sprite sorting order.
- Worked on outro cutscene storyboard.
- Started work on the third boss (The Peeper).
- Added 11 new items, giving the game a total of 50 items.
What's Next
The main thing's that I have to do before the release of the game is the outro cutscene and The Peeper's animations. These are the main things that I'll be focusing on during this next week. On top of these, I also plan on continuing to setup (and publish) the steam page, record and edit a new launch trailer for the game, and gather some up-to-date screenshots of the game. Also, I will start playtesting the game, looking for any niche bugs that need to be fixed. Taking all of these things into consideration, I hope to release the full game in 2 weeks(ish) at a price of $9.99 (on both Itch.io and Steam).
